Persen House in Kingston hosts tintype photographer Tom DeLooza on Tuesday – Daily Freeman

KINGSTON, N.Y. — Local historic photographer Tom DeLooza will present a tintype photography lecture and demonstration at the Matthewis Persen House Museum at 74 John St. on Tuesday, June 18, starting at 3 p.m.The demonstration will showcase the art, history and alchemical process of tintype photography, a press release for the event said.The presentation will complement the 12th annual “Light in the Dark” juried high school photography exhibit featuring gelatin prints from four area high schools, the release said.“Despite being consumed by our digital world, students working in the darkroom have managed to develop a unique perspective and passion for this time-honored craft of analog photography,” the release said. “The historic Person House offers the best setting for each of these events.”The event is free and open to the public.For more information, call the Ulster County Clerk’s Archives by calling (845) 340-3415 or by emailing [email protected].
